It is with great pleasure that the Canada Forum for Nepal (CFFN) invites you to its third Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled on Saturday May 23, 2009 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.

The meeting is open to all those who have an interest in CFFN activities. However, according to CFFN by-laws, only those who have renewed or have taken the new membership can vote on issues regarding CFFN. Memberships are due for renewal on May 23, 2009 irrespective of the pre-existing membership issue date. The annual membership rates are $35 for a family, and $25 for an individual. At your convenience please, fill up the attached membership renewal form prior to the meeting and present it at the venue with your payment.

The agenda is included herewith. Please have a look and submit any other agenda you would like to include for the AGM or inquiries you have by Sunday, May 17, 2009 through email at info@cffn.ca.

  5. Proposal for Name and Slogan Change
    1. Canada Forum for Nepal shall be renamed to Canada Foundation for Nepal, while keeping the existing logo and abbreviations
    2. The slogan of CFFN shall be changed from To see Peaceful, Democratic, Just and Prosperous Nepal! to The Light of Knowledge!
  6. Proposal for Mission Change
    1. CFFN shall become a charitable organization with primary focus on education of children
    2. Development of educational content for public education shall be a major endeavor of the organization
    3. The organization shall seek collaborative partnership with other institutions to promote its mission
    4. The name of the CFFN project on rural education shall be USHA as an acronym for Ushering to Our Shared Aspirations!
  7. Dissolution of Current Executive Board
  8. Election of New Executive Board
