Invitation to Interaction Program: CFFN is organizing an interaction program with Mr. Kul Chandra Gautam, former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF on The Transitional Process of Nepal and Canada Nepal Relations on 11:15AM-2:00PM, Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Ottawa Citizen Hall, 1101 Baxter Road, Ottawa, Canada. We invite those friends in the capital region of Canada to come and interact with one of the most successful person of Nepalese origin to reach that far in the UN’s administrative chain of commands. Call for Papers: CFFN is organizing its second annual academic and policy conference, Unfolding Futures, on Thu-Sat, July 10-12, 2008 in Ottawa, Canada. This year’s conference is titled Unfolding Futures: Building Nepal Grounds Up. We request you to submit the abstracts of your papers by April 30, 2008. Your scholarly papers could be falling under one the following five thematic lines:
1. Economic Paradigm: Switch from a state of gloom to a state of bloom
2. Political Restructuring: From the land of promises to promised land
3. Education, Health and Social Equity: Embracing knowledge, inclusion and enriched-humanity
4. Science, Technology and Society: Building infrastructure for knowledge, innovation, and productivity
5. Natural Resources: Unlocking the treasure chest while ensuring its vitality
Please note that we are here to advance knowledge that can bring positive development in Nepal. If you have to offer a scholarly contribution of high caliber and importance that does not exactly fit under those five categories, we are here to accommodate you.

Project: Rural Nepal: This project is intended to provide opportunity to grassroots people of North America to get directly involved with the grassroots people of Nepal without having to involve governments and big organizations here in North America or in Nepal. It has has made many strides in the recent months. Since September 2007, four volunteers from Canada and USA, and one from Kathmandu have reached the area. They have made many technical breakthroughs. Three more volunteers are on their way for further technical and logistic assistance. We urge you to be part of this noble effort.
